HOPE Co-op offers classes for Kindergarten – 6th grade (with nursery and preschool opportunities for the younger siblings of our enrolled students). We meet ten Mondays in the fall and ten in the spring. HOPE Fall Semester classes run from the Monday after Labor Day until Thanksgiving. HOPE Spring Semester classes run from the end of January until the middle of April.
Since HOPE Co-op is a cooperative effort, each family must earn two “credits” in order to participate, and a parent from each family must be present all day (9:00 – 2:40) assisting in other classes. Co-op credits can be earned in various ways depending on the needs of the Co-op. For first year families, the usual area of service is on the setup and/or breakdown teams.
We offer five class hours each co-op day, 9:00 am – 2:40 pm. We offer a variety of core academic classes and exciting enrichment courses. (See Course List for examples of classes offered).
Families must register for the full co-op day (9:00 – 2:40). Children may not be left at HOPE Co-op without their parent on site. All Kinder students must be 5 by September 1st of the Fall semester.
Class registration takes place in May for Fall semester and in November for Spring semester.
With very few exceptions, all classes are taught by member parents or grandparents. We are a group of volunteers, and everyone pitches in to create a fantastic educational experience!
If you are interested in attending a tour (all applicants must attend a tour) please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a subsequent application and approval process before admittance. Please list all of your areas of expertise/skill/interest on your application. Even if you are not an expert in a field, you may be able to teach a beginner’s class, or assist in a class where you have some knowledge.
Thank you for your interest in HOPE co-op!
